Session InformationPreparationKnow how to cast yourself first and foremost! Actors who work have a great grasp on their type. If you know how you can best sell yourself, you're ahead of the curve. Take the time and write down the types of roles you see yourself playing. If it helps seek the input of Peers, Representation. and other Industry Professionals.Now take that list and start relating it to wardrobe. Each character will have his/her own style, color preferences and general sense of how they look. Business, Casual, Conservative, Grunge, Sophisticated, Playful. Think about it as if you're getting ready for a specific role. What kind of financial background does this person have? Do they iron their clothes or not? Do they lean towards brighter more uplifting colors, go darker or stay neutral.?Pay attention to details. Layers, belts, etc. In the end the Casting Director wants to see the character when they open your picture. Giving texture completes the package and adds a polished less generic feel to the image. When in doubt I always say it's better to overpack then arrive to shoot and realize you had a great necklace of wrist cuff to go with your outfit. We can decided what works and what's distracting as we get started!Once youve chosen your wardrobe make sure it is photo ready, by this I mean lint free and ironed. The only exception is if your going for a more indie look and ironing would be inappropriate for that type of character. Also for men, if you think you may want shoot both with facial hair and without that's not a problem. There will be time to break for you to shave here. Hair and Makeup:Come Photo ready unless having makeup done by one of our artists. In which case, come face freshly washed and mosturized. Remember there is no such thing as perfect hair and skin. If you decide to have your hair cut and/or color, try to schedule it no sooner than one week in advance of our shoot. This allows your hair to fall into place and settle into it's color. Drink plenty of water leading up to the shoot. In the event of startling blemishes, don't fret. Cover it as best you can and know the rest can be cleaned up with Photoshop Magic. Pack your Bag of Tricks This shoot is YOUR day, it's about getting your best face forward! I'm a big advocate of using items for emotional preperation as you would when working on a role. Some suggestions that may help you focus and I completely encourage are 1) Music. Bring your ipod. I have an ipod speaker dock. 2) Inspiring pictures, usually from magazines that embody the look you're going for. 3) Bring a friend or significant other if that helps you stay relaxed. I'm always available before and during our shoot to discuss any concerns you may have, any special requests . If you have a certain feature that's not your favorite, let me know. If know your best angles, even better! The whole point is to take our time to really capture the images that gets you in the doors! Additional Business Details50% Deposit Due upon booking a session. Because I generally only schedule one person per given day it's imperative that we communicate about any possible changes in advance. Any cancellations or reschedues require at least a 48 hour notice. Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance are subject to a $150 cancellation fee. If a reschedule is necessary, please adhere to the 48 hour notice as well. Your deposit will be applied towards the new shoot date. Remember it is in your best interest to get your marketing tools together sooner than later. The longer you wait, the more opportunites that will be missed! Stop feeling like time is passing you by .
